Title: Vice President of Operations
Certifications: Bachelor of Science Degree from Iowa State University
Summary: As Vice President of Operations, I oversee both Design+Build companies Iowa Home Crafters and Silent Rivers and our collective executive team. Our professional group covers most all of central Iowa and can handle all of your design to construction needs including full design, interior design, custom cabinetry, furniture, doors and custom log milling.
Affiliations:- Rotary Club of Ames: President 2025-2026, Board of Directors
- Ames Home Builders Association: Board of Directors and 1st Vice President 2027
Experience: Years of farm building projects, drafting, CAD drawing classes, and shop work all led me to attend ISU for Architecture; I enjoyed those studies and still use much of that today, but I switched my major and spent 26 years in a variety of operations management and sales roles. Along the way, I continued to work on side jobs from basement finish work to decks and pergolas, smaller sheds to large garages, and woodworking projects. I am blessed to have joined such an amazing group of true crafters that take pride in all that they do.
Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance”
More About Jamie Courtney: My wife Heather and I enjoy spending time outdoors at our acreage just outside of Ames. I get to plan and build all the projects that come with that. I enjoy raising cattle (14 head cow calf operation) and running a hay production business of large round bales. We enjoy our time on the acreage, wood fires in the shop in the winter, a garden, and chickens running around in the summer. I also enjoy playing pool, milling at home, and welding when time allows.
