1990s Suburban Bathroom Remodel Creates a Spa-Like Retreat

In their builder spec home, our clients wanted to make better use of the existing master bathroom space, especially since the husband is 6′-6″ tall and the wife is 5′-2″. So, the goal was to create a space that accommodated both of them. They also requested a “spa-like” bathroom, one that feels like a retreat. We used a variety of materials in this bathroom remodel to achieve this visually and physically: porcelain & ceramic tile, stones and cherry wood. We increased the shower size to 5’x6′, and incorporated a bench that penetrates from the interior of the shower, through a pattern glass wall, into the bathroom proper.
